MY DIARY (#9)

Source: Google Image

Dear Blog,

There comes some time in life where, despite all that you do, your wish remained like that, demanding some time, money and less responsibilities  for fulfillment. You want to hold onto your belief that your wishes will get fulfilled someday. The same happened with me also, I’m longing for my wishes.

Those wishes I have kept for future. I heard that life gives us chances to fulfill our wishes, we have to grab the chance. I also heard that life always offers you second chances, called tomorrow.

I have created my own wish list, now that the list must be reached in thousand numbers. I interpret wish as the things you desire to achieve. I’m going to reveal my Top three wishes.

My first wish is to travel different places out of my state with my parents and a camera. I want to explore the outer world, learn their cultures and festivals. The most important thing is I want to spend some time with my family, clicking and enjoying the mesmerizing scenery. I have a weak point for hill station area, So Manali is in my top list. I want to start my journey from Manali.

My second wish is buying novels and making a library in my house. I love to read novels and always buy it from my savings. I gather my pocket money every month for purchasing purposes. First, I want collect hundred books and I will make my library.

My third wish is to write my debut novel. I need lots of time from my hectic schedule to fulfill this wish. I’m currently in the final year of engineering and five to six months after I have to join my company (which I got through my placement). So I deserve some space and time to initiate the journey towards my grant wish.

I don’t want to be one of them, who died with unfulfilled wishes. And if I will be lucky enough to get a second chance, I won’t waste it. I want to live in present because who knows about the future? It may or mayn't lead me towards my wish list.

Till then,
See you

CELEBRATING LOVE

Source: www.Haibye.com

Love is an intense feeling. Everybody must have tasted the essence of first love or at least first crush. I met him the previous year in a cafe. He came with his friend and I came with mine. As our corresponding friends were a couple, they introduced us. At first I thought he was completely different from me, but eventually I found that we have a lot of similarities.

As days passed by our friendship turned into something more, our feelings got intense. We both aware that the feeling we share for each other is beyond friendship. And finally the golden day came into my life, when he proposed me. I’m quite shy and socially ill-equipped person where as he is charming, outspoken and extrovert person. He proposed me every now and then. But never once I engulfed my courage to propose him.

This time I’m thinking to celebrate the valentine day by surprising him, by proposing him. My attire for that day is ready; it’s his favorite color gray and black. We both love long drive, cafe mocha, restaurant and talking. So I’m thinking first we’ll go to a cafe; while enjoying our cafe mocha we’ll talk. I know it sounds little silly, but we talked about various things and with our each talk we explore more about each other.

Source: Google Image

We’ll go on a long drive and after reaching on our destination I’ll propose him with three promises. My first promise will be “I will be with you despite of any situation”. My second promise will be “I will always try to make you happy.” And my thirst promise will be “I will love you unconditionally for eternity. Will you love me back unreservedly? Will you hold me tight, when I will be down position? Will you stand by me, when I will need you the most?

I’m nervous thinking about his answer. Will he simply answer me or with a twist and turn I will receive my answer?

I’m a writer and he often insists that I should write something about him. So I have written a poem for him. And I have made a card for him, there I will write that poem.

My fragile heart has fallen for you,
It’s in madly love with you.
The fancy yet empathy emotions for you,
Have emerged then spread out within you.
Let my arm curl over you,
I’m dreaming a dream with you.
I have engrossed in thoughts of you,
And I’m lost within you.
Trust, faith all I have for you,
I believe my belief in you.
My heart is hoping for love from you,
It is breathing for you.
Hold me, stand by me and let me spread my wings over you,
For my love only just for you.

It’s his dream that someday I will propose to him. I’m sure my proposal will make a memorable day for him. After that we will walk hand in hand for some time. We love to walk holding hands and whispering a song. He loves to sing for me.

In the evening we will go on a date to our favorite restaurant. With the end of diner our special day will also end. This is what I’m planning to make a memorable day for him.

SOLITUDE

Source: Google Image

You showed me love’s different shade,
But I never understood when those fade...
I desired to walk holding your hand,
Gazing into your eyes, alone in a distant land...
I always thought you were my stars and I’m your sky,
You can make me shine without a try...
You made me walk away from your life,
Leaving me in distress and strife...
Now I have accepted the solitude,
With enormous hope and gratitude...
Solitude taught me being on my own,
And  whispering that I like to be alone...
I was fleeing from myself,
But now I have admitted my own self...

Book Links:
Goodreads I Amazon

Meet the Characters:

Vladimir Dracula

AKA: Vlad, Vlad the Impaler, Dracula
Height: 6’10”
Weight: 315 pounds
Hair: shoulder length, brown
Origin: A human follower of Jarel, the Black Dragon god. He was caught in the crossfire of Jarel’s disagreement with a demon god and the result changed him into one of the first vampires.
More info: Contrary to popular belief, he has never sired another vampire. The entire race descends from the married couple, Vacker and Deidre. He has functioned as the final enforcer of the race since its creation. He is lethal in battle, being one of those fortunate enough to have had Jarel’s favor in mortal life first. He is also extremely sexual, with an appeal that draws others to him. He should not be confused with the prince who became known as Vlad the Impaler. He’s far older and earned the name in a far different manner.

Vax

Height: 6’4”
Weight: 220 pounds
Hair: long, red
Origin: A mortal born witch, servant to Hecate, the patron goddess of witches. He was chosen by the goddess himself to wield the legendary hammer Mjolnir to expel Lucifer from the mortal world.
More info: Vax originally had a bit of a self-confidence issue. Because he’s mortal born, he is not used to the strength and power gifted to him by the goddess. He’s a quick learner, and in fact, had a bit of conflict with Vlad in his first story. He’s the first person to resist Vlad’s charm when the vampire is really pouring it on.

Anaya

Height: 5’3”
Hair: long, red
Origin: An orphaned Fae, she comes into contact with Brandon during his mortal life and the two have a son, Theo, who eventually becomes one of the Three Fates. She is actually the daughter of the Fae queen and the very first angel, Apollyon.
More info: Anaya was captured due to her softer and trusting nature in the second book, and the reasons are complicated. Her ties to the father of her child as well as her soul mate, in addition to her parentage, made her a target. But she’s certainly come into her own and is no damsel in distress

Galen

Height: 6’6”
Weight: 258 pounds
Eyes: blue
Hair: long, black
Origin: A warrior angel created by an ancient goddess, he has only known war and duty and has not adjusted to the idea of having a soul mate.
More info: Galen has loyalty that cannot be questioned, even falling from grace to aid in the fall of Lucifer. He’s powerful and ruthless in battle, but unfamiliar with the concept of love. It’s taken him a long time to accept Anaya.

DARK SOUL: a book review

256 Page
ISBN: 9789384180058
Format: Paperback
Price: 150/-
Published on 10th October 2014

Dark soul a lament within the core is the story about a boy named Tom, whose mother died screaming that her unborn child is evil. After that granny and Lucy accepted him as their family. Apart from granny and Lucy he adored his best friend kristaine.

From childhood days Tom and Kristaine were inseparable one.  With change in time Kristaine's feeling changed for Tom.  At first she thought the feelings were mutual, but the truth was bitter and hard to accept. She got rejected before expressing her love.

Tom already had a loved one, which broke Kristaine apart. Suddenly Tom’s first love went missing and he held himself responsible for this mishap.

Tom’s curiosity led him, Kristaine and Mecanz into a mysterious world, where they learned about various creatures and some nasty secrets about Tom.

Will they able to return to their home? Will Tom able to find his way out of his own secret?

Dark soul is Mitali Priyadarsini’s debut novel of fantasy genre. She portrayed her characters well, I feel more allied to Kristaine. The 256 page novel is a quick read for a Sunday afternoon. The story moves briskly with every chapter revealing some secrets.

The friendship of Tom and Kristaine was adorable. The author has penned the emotion of Kristaine marvelously. The novel promises a second series to complete its story.

This novel has pros as well as cons. I quite like the first part of the novel, but the second part didn’t meet my expectation level. I also felt the story got somehow disconnected from the main theme, so I lost a little interest in the ending part.

I hope Mitali will do her best in her second book and she will reshape her story again. I will give 3 out of 5 stars for her writing, the emotions she has poured through Kristaine.

HE LIED TO ME

Source: Google Images

I thought I saw him standing there...
With a hand full of roses
Looking in a direction as if waiting for someone
A thousand of thoughts erupted in my mind
I dialled his number seeking where he is
I stunned to hear his answer
I knew that he lied to me
He was smiling, thinking that I wasn’t aware of his lie
But my tears weren’t stopping
I left that place hurriedly
With a vivid memory of us spending time together
I thought my parents were right about him
That he isn’t worthy for me
That evening he came to me holding the same roses
With a smiling face, he handed over that to me
At first I was confused by his behavior
So I revealed everything
Saying that he was the reason for my mishap
He laughed at first hearing my revelation
Then he consoled me saying that it was a surprise
For our marriage anniversary
He said he was waiting for the rings arrival
I was amazed thinking about my previous thoughts
He embraced me whispering in my ear that
I was the only love of his life
He slid the ring on my finger
With a symbol of promise
To never be apart from each other

GO SLEEK!!!

Source: Google Image

Engineering students consider their laptop or desktop as the precious property in the world and they care more for it than their text books. I’m also no different than them; I perform all my tasks in desktop; whether that is my assignment or blogging or watching movies or listening music or editing photos or surfing net.

Recently when I was visiting the site of Amazon a brand new ASUS All In One PC ET2040 caught my attention. At first I was mesmerized with its trendy look and then after reading its features and I had added it to my wish list. I had decided that it is the perfect choice for my lifestyle.

The features which influenced my choices are-:

Backup power prevents data loss
Before one month I was doing my assignment, when suddenly power cut happened and as my desktop had lost its battery. My whole data was gone as I didn’t save that. I had to re-write that and I even couldn’t complete my sleep and the next day I was dozing off in my class. That day I had decided to kick out my desktop and bring a new one.

I learnt that Asus All In One PC ET2040 did not rely completely on main power to work. ET2040 can keep on working up to one hour, if the power is lost. So you have plenty of time to save your data.
Sometimes desktop breaks down due to sudden power off, that can be avoidable by ET2040.

Source: Google Image

Innovative Gesture Control
It’s my favorite part. You can control your multimedia players or browsing the internet from up to 5 meters away from your computer. If you are a Wi-Fi user then this is the best desktop. You can play songs or videos, adjust player settings, or zoom and rotate photos, all these things can be done from a distance, without even touching a screen, keyboard or mouse. Isn't it cool and innovative? I have never seen such operation in any other desktop.

Incredibly Fast and Responsive
I have seen sometime my desktop gets hanged during switching between multiple apps running at same time and due to that problem I have to restart my desktop. Sometimes I lost my data due to this problem. But ET2040 has the ability to avoid such problem.

ET2040 has the latest Intel processors and super-fast graphics for which multitasking will be seamless and effortless. It is very responsive, so that you have to spend less time waiting. The smooth graphics also make HD video playback smooth and stutter-free.

Large Screen
We all love to watch a movie or video on a larger screen with smooth picture quality. ET2040 has 19.5’ large HD display with 1366x768 LED-backlit.

It has 2GB RAM and 500GB SATA Hard Drive, which will be helpful to store thousands of movies and videos and much more applications.

Everyone wants to be updated with new technology; ET2040 comes with latest Windows 8.1 BING 64bit.

Every Indian wants an ideal buy that is the product having least cost along with various features. That’s why I make it on my wish list and as per my lifestyle this desktop must will play a vital role.

MY DIARY (#8)

Source: Google Image

Dear Diary,

I have been waiting for 344 days for valentine day’s arrival. I met him for the first time in the previous valentine day at a cafe. We both were giving company to our respective friends. He smiled and waved at me. My friend introduced me to him.

While our friends were celebrating valentine day together, we talked for a while with cafe mocha and the enchanting weather. We talked about our likes, dislikes and point of views.  We bade our goodbyes to each other and exchanged our numbers.

As time passed by we developed feelings for each other and we are also aware of each other’s feeling. But an official proposal is still needed. I think whether he will propose me or I will propose him; both things are same.

I have taken a step forward and decided that I will propose him instead. My friends have given me several ideas also.  But I have listed out the plan already.

On the valentine day I will call him to that cafe, where we had met each other for the first time. My gray tops and black jeans with a black jacket are ready to make me shine like a star. His favorite color is gray and once he told me that he likes to see me in jeans.

I have prepared seven red roses; I have heard that red roses are the icon of romance. First, we will enjoy our cafe mocha; our favorite drink and chocolate brownie. I made a card myself with lots of love, roses and a promise symbol; once he told me that my drawing is good and creativity poured into it.

Before the drink and food I will give him one rose and after our drink, I will give him another one rose along with my card. Then we will move forward to a long drive in his bike; I love long drives and he also likes to make me happy. After we reach our destination I will give him another red rose; the destination will be chosen by him.

There I will say some of my promises. I judge promises are the foremost part of love. I will make three promises with my three roses. First promise will be, “I will be with you despite of any situation.”  My second promise will be, “I will never break up with you from my side and if you dare to think about that I will kill you!!!” My third promise will be, "I will love you unconditionally for eternity; when you will grow old, your hair will turn white and you have no teeth left in your mouth I will still love you. Now will you love me back unreservedly?”

Source: Google Image
I don’t know what he will say after hearing this; a simple yes or a special yes. After that I will sing my own poem and invite him to dance with me. We will dance, embracing each other in a quieter place.

I know this boy, who considers me as his sunshine...
He can do everything to make me shine...
Looking deep into his eyes...
I have crafted several ties...
Let me go yet hold me tight...
Together we will hold the fight...
My heart has lost in bliss...
Please grant my only wish...
Never let me go... Oh dear...

Well I have painted a wall saying I love him. I will show it to him that day and we will walk for some time, intertwining our hands and eating our ice creams. Oh and I forgot about my last rose that I will give him on our departure time. This is how I will make my proposal picture perfect.

Till then,                                                                                                                                     see you again

RAINBOW: The Shades of Love

                                                   176 pages
                                          Published on July 2014
                                             Teenage Publishers
                                             Format-: Paperback
                                                   Price-: 150/-

From the blurb

Love = Sex? Love+Sex=? Love-Sex=??? Sex-Love=????

This is not a book to teach you about love or how to get a beautiful girl to bed, rather it reveals how bad things can get if you don't set your priorities right. It's a story about the most explored life aspect ' Love' 'Sex'.

YUVI, a pleasure seeking boy, falls victim to the same notorious life facet called love. Simran's beauty sweeps him off from his feet and he leaves no stone unturned to seek her special attention.

As he falls in love, he also sleeps around with all the erroneous girls, and when his fate threatens to take his love down, he promises himself to stop all of this and come out of the wreckage … But then, his past deeds come back to his present, and that tears his life apart. What follows is an uneasy course of getting his love back on board.

The story reveals the life of today's youth, their friendships, feelings, priorities, and ineptitude to handle relationships while not forgetting their turmoil between the two critical facets of life: LOVE & SEX.

Love makes the world go round … Or is it Sex? Based on real life experiences and tea time gossips.

My Review

A big thanks to Aman Jassal and Goodreads for providing me a copy of Rainbow the shades of love. This book is the debut novel of the author. He has given importance to the different color of rainbow and its significance in our life.
From the book blurb I thought the story must be revolve around love and sex as these two are tinted, but the story is more than that. It also spread the spooky idea that “sometimes it’s too late to realize your true love.”
The cover is cute with a highlighted portion of two hands intertwined with each other and a red ribbon coupled with it.

What I like

The past has a great influence on present and even on future. This book talks about the past that brings dilemma to present and future. I love a paragraph, where he mentioned the significance of colors.

‘My favourite RED symbolizes love, passion, energy. ORANGE symbolizes a lot of energy and wisdom. YELLOW means something bright. GREEN symbolizes harmony, balance, growth, abundance. BLUE is known for divinity, peace and understanding. INDIGO symbolizes wisdom and self-mastery. VIOLET signifies beginning of the energy vibration.’

I quite like the realistic ending; unlike some fairy tale, the author has shown reasonable ending.

What I didn’t like

The story plot could’ve been much better. I wanted to know the character more rather than what men or women would like or dislike!!!  ‘Men wouldn't lie as much to the women in their life, if the women didn't ask so many questions.’

The love story of the main protagonists also seemed not that much connected. The sparkle of chemistry between the protagonists was also missing. I think no girl will be convinced to talk with a complete stranger or even fall for him.

If you are a lovey-dovey-tragic-drama story fan, then I will recommend this book. I will give 2.5 out of 5 stars to the book.

THE GREAT INDIAN LITTERBUG

Today I stepped out of my house to breath the fresh air,
But my owner threw a dustbin full of garbage on my hair...
Annoyance slithered on my face, aisles formed in my mind in an array
Instead, she said it was aimed for the ground and I came on its way...
After a few seconds my mom did the same as my owner and smile at me briefly
Which made me embarrassed and I stood there cheaply...
How can I convince others to make a moral habit to avoid ugliness,
Where my own people don’t care much for cleanliness...

I heard that hygiene started from your own house, but never give a second glance at this statement. After that incident, I rushed inside my house; first to change my clothes  and bathing purposes and second to question my mother.

I slid into the bathroom and cleaned myself. After a few minutes I marched towards mama. “How could you do that mama? I was thinking of lecturing our house owner not to throw the garbage here and there. But oh... You did the same thing in front of me and her, it humiliates me. And the most important thing, why are you throwing the garbage on the ground instead of government dustbins?”  Anger radiated on my face.

She observed me carefully and after a while, she spoke, “ Why are you reacting today? It happens every day on most of the houses. People throw garbage on road, cinema hall, park and even in tourist places also. You never reacted to that, just because It fell on you you’re showing your fists.” I was stunned; what she said was true, I never once raise my voice for that, then why I’m reacting now.
I contemplated silence was the best answer for that moment. I thought some questions don’t have any explanation. I got ready for my college.  My bus arrived and I sat across a window seat. On my way to college for the first time I checked my surroundings; some roads are clean like pristine, some roads are full of garbage and spiting of betel.

I’m amazed to see the beautiful patterns of betel spit on the walls
People should  get rewarded for their great hard works...
My bus took a sudden turn, I made myself comfortable,
And I saw some scene...  Which will be memorable...
Some fountains were popping out of people’s mouth, finding their way to the ground
And the shining rappers of light foods flying all around in the background...
I saw a brand new car stood beside our bus, sliding it’s glass down a bottle soaring down to the road,
A twinkling sound made my mind hush, I wonder if the reality is in such mode...
I clapped for them in my thought with a negative smug,
Because This is the great Indian litterbug...

Recently our prime minister had initiated ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’. People had heard it, encouraged it and praised for the idea. But how many have actually fulfilled it???

I have seen some Bollywood movies having scenes like peeing on the restricted walls, spitting here and there. I think people should be rewarded for this; a litterbug cap with a smiling face and a click on camera to remember this mesmerizing moment.

This humor video must will able to unlock some people's mind

FIRST LOVE

Source: Google Image

[2008]
I was the most socially ill-equipped and maybe the most boring person ever. My friends actually knew how to dress up and look pretty, where I with big glass, face full of pimples and braces on my teeth didn’t know the basic of trendy look. I had two best friends at that time and not only they but also the whole class used to call me double battery and pimple queen.

In that year I got the taste of my first crush. He used to be a charming and most handsome person in our school. Most of the girls were following him all around, hoping for a glimpse, but I was the lucky one he asked for my friendship. And of course I accepted it gratefully. I had never dared to give him any clue about my feelings.

[2009]

The days passed by and I had started to develop inferior feelings about my look and complexion. I feared of rejection. I shared my feelings with my best friends. At first they laughed, but when they sensed I was serious they gave me some tips about how to remove my pimples.

I had tried so many methods, some I heard from my family, relatives and some I heard from my friends. I had applied the Neem paste with turmeric, sandalwood with neem paste but nothing happened. So I decided to give up on my face and rather than that concentrate on studies as my board exams were approaching.

I had never studied that hard in my entire life and appeared my exam with a smile on my face.  It is well said that ‘Hard work is the key to success.’  Well, I got 95% on my board exam and got admitted in the same school for eleventh standard.

****

I, my best friends and my crush were in the same class. Our friendship went smoothly and at that time I contemplated my study as the first priority. By the end of 12th standard I converted myself as a studious student. I was top in my class, but never gave him a hint of my feeling.

After our 12th standard we changed our path; I became an engineer where he went for further commerce study.  In the due course of time four years passed by I last saw him.

I never realized when my crush became my first love. And I got my first unsuccessful love story. But I never mount over my pimples, which was also bothering me. Sometimes I thought that maybe my pimples will come in the way of my interview.

Before some months, one of my relatives had introduced me to Garnier Pure Active Neem Face Wash. I thought to give it a try. I had tried several face washes but never taste the effect. After 3-4 weeks some unexpected thing happened; my pimples started to vanish one by one. And after some more days I got a pimple free face. I had succeeded in my first step and then I moved to my second step, which was getting the lens. My second step was not difficult though.

I went to a parlor; cut my hair into some layers, got manicures, re-do eyebrows and something more hard to recall. The beautician passed the mirror and I looked myself. The first thing came to my mind was ‘Is this me?’ I looked beautiful, first time in my life.

Source: Google Image

My transformation led me a confident lifestyle, I got placed in a very well known company and I got an invitation for school get together.

[December 2014]

I never expected to see him again at the get together party. He hadn’t changed a bit; same charming look, flirty smile and full of energy. He came closer to me and said, “You look different.”

“Define different?” I asked with confident look. We both laughed and talked for hours. I realized something buried deep inside in my heart and that needed to come out. With thumbing heart beat I called him, “I have to tell you something. You will listen completely and don’t react.”

He nodded with a concern look. I started to explain him everything. He listened patiently and spoke when my elucidation was over.

“If you had told me at that time I could have accepted you. It’s too late now. I had always liked you because you were ‘YOU’; unique from everyone. I have a girlfriend now. Can we remain friends after this conversation?” He sounded exceptionally sincere. I said, “Of course!!! We are friends and we’ll be always.”

Till now we also remain friends and we are ‘the friends in need and friends indeed.’

I have always thanked that I’m being introduced to GarnierNeem Face Wash, who gave me the confident look and pimple free face.

I WONDER: WHY???

Source: Google Image

My mama gets up at 4 am in the morning. She brushes her teeth and started to sweep the whole house. Then came to the kitchen and started preparing food for our Tiffin and lunch. You all must be confused by now why she started preparing for the meal this early? Well, my mother is a teacher and she left the house at 6:30 am. So before that she has to prepare lunch. She comes back home at 12:30 pm and after that she has to finish the washing the dirty plates, pots and pans. She checks the home work copies, makes the study plan and updates the attendance sheet. Then she goes to make some Tiffin for the evening. Then she watches some daily soaps and again goes to the kitchen for dinner. It’s her daily routine.

She only feels a little relax on Sundays, but that day also laundry work occupies her. Sometimes I help her with laundry like washing in machines and folding clothes. She gives iron to the clothes. Before some months, I asked, “You are doing every house chores as well as maintaining your school work. At least can’t papa help you with laundry? At least he can wash the clothes in the machine and fold the clothes with me.”

My mama laughed a little and said, “But you are helping me na... So no need to ask your father about laundry.” I couldn’t resist my irritation any more. “But mama Sometimes I have my exams, seminars and presentations. That time you do all the work by yourself and why can’t I ask papa?”
She faced down not meeting my gaze. “You can’t ask him. It was like this and I think it will be always like this.”  “No mama It will not always be like this. I will talk to papa.” I assured her.

I share everything with my parents. I also consider that my papa is little understanding of nature.  So I was not nervous to ask him. That evening when my papa was enjoying his tea, I sat in front of him. After a few minutes of usual talk I started the main topic, “Papa, mama is doing all the house chores along with her school works. I think she needs some help.”

“So she needs a maid? Okay, I will arrange one.” Papa replied with a casual tone.

“No papa. I mean you can help her.” Papa laughed out loud. “You want me to help her doing house chores?” “Yes papa, actually I want it. But I think you can help her with the laundry.” I tried to be confident. “You know dear, men don’t do these works.” I couldn’t believe he said those words.
“Where it is written that men can’t do the household works? It’s just your ego, that’s why you are uttering those words. I thought you would understand the situation.”

“Did your mama ask you to tell me all these things?” before he could complete his sentence I commented, “I’m saying this and will you like it after my marriage, I have to maintain my corporate work as well as my household work and when I will ask my husband to help me, he will tell me the same thing as you told me now?”

Papa thought for a moment and replied, “Okay, I will initiate by washing clothes in machine only.” I hugged my papa and congratulate me for my small victory, though I have way more to go. After that day my papa helps in 50% laundry work.  These days he is also helping in giving iron to the fine clothes.

However, this is my house’s condition, but I came to know about a survey that is done by A C Nielson for washing powder brand Ariel. The survey results are shown below-

1: More than 2/3 rd (>67%) of Indian women feel, there exists inequality at home, between men and women.
2: 76% Indian men feel laundry is a woman’s job.
3: 85% of working Indian women feel that they have two jobs; one at work and another at home.

4: 73% married Indian women feel, a man prioritizes relaxing over helping with household chores.
5: More than 2/3rd (>67%) Indian men prefer to watch TV than to do their laundry.
6: 77% of Indian men depend on Indian women for doing the laundry.
(The above survey was done in 5 cities Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad & Bangalore in November 2014 by taking 1000 persons.)

NEW WORLD

A seven-year-old kid sat across the window deep in her thought, when a constant ring in mobile brought her back to reality. Her mother rushed towards it and with a click she picked it up.

Tears were found in its way out from her mother’s face. She didn’t understand what was happening? After a few hours they reached at the hospital where she found her nana’s (maternal grandfather) lifeless body.

She observed her surroundings; some were weeping, some were showing their grief and some were gossiping. She heard some were talking about her nana’s death.

That night she couldn’t resist her curiosity anymore and rushed towards her mother. “Mama what happened to nana?”  Her mother wiped her eyes and brought her little daughter to her lap. “Nothing much dear, your nana became an angel.”

“What is an angel and why people were saying something about death?” Her mother patted her little daughter’s shoulder and looked into her twinkling eyes. “A shadow had kissed your nana and as your nana was a very good man he became an angel. Now he must be in heaven, from there he is looking at you.”

“Where is heaven mama? What happened to bad people? And what is the work of an angel?” She asked.

“Heaven is a thousand steps above us dear. The bad people became demon and go to hell, which is a thousand steps below us. Angels protect and guard us from bad people.”

“Bad people mean demons. But what is shadow kiss?” she asked, lifting her brows.

“Um... You will know when you will become grown up. Remember sweety nana is always in our heart. Now go to your bed.” Her mother concluded.

She went to her bed and processed what her mother told her about death. She thought a single click on the mobile lead her to a new world of angels and demons. She was happy that her nana became an angel.

Now that little kid is no-more-a-little-kid. She has understood the impact of death. But still she believed in life after death. That she is ‘me’.

MY DIARY (#7)

Source : Google Image

Dear Blog,

We all know that children are the active and energetic members in a house; they always keep you busy with their notorious activities. That’s why it is said that ‘A child has a special way of adding joy to everyday!’ But when an active member of a house falls sick, then the whole environment turns dull and it felt like the whole house has fallen sick.

When I was in sixth standard, I felt sick severely. At first I caught cold, then that cold leaded to fever. At first everyone thought that it was viral fever and I will be okay after some days. But day by day I got serious and I had to get admitted in a hospital.

The doctor took several tests and concluded that my immune power is too low to fight back with the disease and due to malnutrition I was not getting well soon. He also announced that I was remarkably under weight.

At that time I sensed the atmosphere in my house; it was like everything was black and white. My parents as well as my relatives were tensed. It felt like the whole house was ill.

The next day the doctor advised me three things that I had to maintain for prevention purpose. The first thing he highlighted Food. He said, “Food plays a vital role in daily nutrition. One should eat a pretty amount of vegetables and fruits to get proper nutrition.  Food also increase the immune power to fight back with diseases. So do you like green vegetables?”

Before I could say anything my papa replied, “ No. She doesn’t eat anything but potatoes.” My face turned red. The doctor smiled and advised me to eat proper food.

The second thing he highlighted was Water. “One should drink two liter water per day. It’s a healthy habit.” The third thing he highlighted was cleaning. “ You should keep your house clean as much as possible so that you won’t feel sick mentally.”

Till now also I have remembered his words and now I’m following it. After three more days I got discharged from the hospital and took my medicines as well as the advises he had given me. I recovered completely and sensed the change in the atmosphere in my house. Happiness entered into my house. I was back to my normal self; jumping, dancing, disturbing my parents and cracking jokes. Then I realized something that I’m the heart of my house; if I’m to become dull then the whole house is changing its environment to a faded color and if I’m cheerful then the whole house is shining like a rainbow.

Till then,
See you

When I was a kid, I also didn’t like vegetables and in my home, I became the choosy one when it comes to food. My parents tried so many methods to make me eat the vegetables; my mama was trying to make different dishes in a hope that maybe I will get attracted towards it’s look. But I got older and realized the value of nutrition.
